TWO DAYS FARMERS TRAINING HELD AT SANIS VILLAGE WOKHA
Two days farmers’ training on “Post Harvest management and value addition of horticultural crops” was organized by the Central Institute of Horticulture, DAC& FW, Ministry of Agriculture, GOI, Medziphema, Nagaland at Sanis village Wokha district Nagaland, on 29th to 30th May 2019. It was organized in collaboration with District Horticulture Department, Wokha. The objective of the training program was to impart technical know-how on various aspects of post harvest horticultural technologies for generating income. The training programme covered topics like processing and value addition such as preparation of pineapple squash and chilli pickle, package and practices of vegetable cultivation. The participants comprised of farmers, educated unemployed youths and self-help groups from neighboring village. Apart from training, farmer-scientist interaction was also conducted after each technical session. Altogether 170 participants from nearby villages participated in the training program. Certificates were distributed to the participants at the end of the program.
