Three days farmers’ training on “Post Harvest Management and Value Addition of Important Horticultural Crops” was held at ICAR Research Complex for NEH Region Manipur Centre, Imphal from 14th to 16th October 2019. It was sponsored by the Central Institute of Horticulture, DAC & FW, Ministry of Agriculture, GOI, Medziphema, and jointly organized by ICAR-KVK, Imphal West, Churachandpur and Chandel. The objective of the training program was to impart technology on post harvest management of important horticultural crops grown in their region and its value addition for generating additional income through various processing techniques. The scientists and subject matter specialist from various KVKs under ICAR Manipur Centre were invited as resource persons to provide lecture and hands-on demonstration during the training programme. Apart from training, farmer-scientist interaction was also conducted after each technical session. The participants comprised of farmers, educated unemployed youths and self-help groups from different villages. Altogether 150 women participated in the training program, whereby, certificates and training materials were distributed to the participants after completion of the training.
