CIH CONDUCTS TWO DAYS FARMERS TRAINING AT PEREN DISTRICT

Two days farmers’ training on “Production technology of winter vegetables and value addition of king chilli” was held at Jaluki town, Peren district from 16th to 17th September 2019. It was organized by the Central Institute of Horticulture, DAC& FW, Ministry of Agriculture, GOI, Medziphema, in collaboration with ICAR KVK, Peren, Nagaland. The objective of the training program was to impart latest technology on cultivation of important winter vegetables and value addition for generating additional income. The training programme covered topics like prospects of organic cultivation, package and practices in vegetable, integrated farming system production technology of carrot and radish and preparation of king chilli pickle. The resource persons from ICAR KVK Peren were Dr. Babita Devi, Senior Scientist & Head, Shri. Z. James Kikon, ACTO, Soil science and Dr. Patu Khate Zeliang, ACTO, GPB. Technical representatives from Central Institute of Horticulture, Dr. Moasosang Longkumer Asst.Hort.Specialist and Ms. Marina, Senior Technical Assistant also delivered training and demonstration during the two days farmers training programme. The participants comprised of farmers, educated unemployed youths and self-help groups from different villages under Peren district. Apart from training, farmer-scientist interaction was also conducted after each technical session. Altogether 102 participants from villages like Nkio-B, Nsenlo, Ikiesingram, Samzuiram, Deukwaram, Jaluki town, New chalkot, New Ngualong, Peren Kipuzang and Mhainamtsi participated in the training program.
