TRAINING ON ORGANIC FARMING OF HORTICULTURE CROPS

Central Institute of Horticulture, DAC & FW, Ministry of Agriculture& Farmers Welfare, GOI, Medziphema, in collaboration with KVK Peren, Nagaland conducted a 2 days farmers training programme on “Organic farming in Horticulture Crops” at Jaluki, Peren district, which was held from 16th to 17th March 2021.

The objective of the programme was to create awareness on importance and scope of organic farming for sustainable cultivation and healthy living. It was well attended by farmers and representatives from various self help groups making a total attendance of 30 participants. Technical staffs of the Institute along with expert resource persons from KVK Peren provided trainings on production technology of selected crops, importance and use of organic inputs, preparation of bio inputs such as Jeevamrutham, amrit pani and Panchgavya.

During the two days training programme the experts and participants had interaction after every technical session.
