ONE DAY AWARENESS AND TRAINING ON IMPORTANT HORTICULTURAL CROPS

Central Institute of Horticulture, Nagaland conducted one day awareness cum training on important horticultural crops at Dhansiripar under Chumoukedima district on 14thDecember 2022.

Mr. Mhasizotuo, Senior Technical Assistant highlighted on Improved canopy management techniques for important horticultural crops in the region like Mango, jackfruit, lemon, pineapple and addressed issues related to pest and disease using organic inputs in their orchardmanagement practices.

Furthermore, Mrs. Meribeni Shitiri, Horticultural specialist, briefed on Improved nursery management practice for vegetable crops and addressed the important pest and diseasesaffecting the crops;farmers were also made aware about the organically accepted inputs for its managementand improving the growth and productivity of vegetable crops.

The last technical session was taken up by Ms. Jungshienla Jamir, JRF whereby farmers were made aware about avenues and prospects of floriculture among the women youths.Topics on different media preparation for raising ornamental plants; marketing strategy for generation of income through floriculture was being made aware to the farmers.Altogether 50 farmers participated and interacted with the technical staffs.
