Secretary of Union Agriculture & Farmers Welfare reviews Central Schemes at CIH, Nagaland
Shri Manoj Ahuja, IAS, Secretary, Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare visited CIH, Nagaland on 12th November 2022 and chaired the Review Meeting on Major Programmes & Schemes of North East States. The meeting was attended by Shri Abhilaksh Likhi, IAS, Addl. Secretary, DA&FW, Joint Secretaries and Sr. officials from DA&FW & NE states. At the meeting, additional Secretary Agriculture & Farmers welfare Shri Abhilaksh Likhi, IAS shared information on the schemes and programmes being implemented in the North East. He emphasised on the National Mission on edible oil-palm oil, National Mission of Edible oilseeds, Mission for Integrated Development of Horticulture (MIDH), Mission organic value chain Development for North East Region (MOVCD-NER), RKVY, formation and promotion of Farmer producers’ organizations (FPOs), National Bamboo Mission & National Bee keeping & Honey Mission (NBHM). Officials of the respective state Governments of the region shared status and issues related to implementation of the Central Govt schemes.
The Secretary also during his visit inaugurated the exhibition stalls set up at CIH after which the team visited the pineapple fields at Molvom Village and interacted with the pineapple growers. The pineapple growers requested the team to set up a processing facility at the village so that the surplus produce could be processed at the village level and made available to the consumers at other places.
