Central Institute of Horticulture, along with the rest of the nation, celebrated the 72nd Independence Day with all pride and vigor on 15th August 2018. The hoisting of the National Flag was done by Dr. N K Patle, Deputy Commissioner (Hort.), DAC&FW & Director i/c, CIH which was followed by singing of National Anthem by all staffs and field workers of CIH. Dr. N K Patle while addressing the employees of the Institute encouraged them to work diligently and efficiently and contribute towards the development of the Institute and the welfare of the farmers of the North East Region

Brief speeches were given by Dr. Anand Zambre, Executive Director, NCPAH, New Delhi and Shri. L A Khan, Section Officer, DAC&FW.

Inorder to encourage the staffs and workers of CIH, certificates and awards were given during the event. Dr. Moasosang, Asst. Horticulture Specialist & Smt. Sharda Devi were recipient of Best Staff Award & Shri. Atovi, Shri. Vilhou & Shri. Rakum were recipient of Best Field Worker Award.

The event was also marked by song presentation by field workers, Smt. Reema & Shri. Babu. All the technical, administrative and field staffs participated in the 72nd Independence Day celebration event. The programme was chaired by Smt. Meribeni Shitiri, Horticulture Specialist.
